Bingo odds come down to two things: how many numbers have to be called before your card completes the pattern, and how many other cards are in the game. The first is fixed maths; the second decides whether you actually win. Here are both, for 75-ball and 90-ball bingo.
For a single 75-ball card with a free centre space, this is the chance of having completed at least one line — any row, column or diagonal — after a given number of calls:
| Numbers called | Chance of a line |
|---|---|
| 10 | 0.08% |
| 15 | 0.59% |
| 20 | 2.3% |
| 25 | 6.4% |
| 30 | 14.4% |
| 35 | 27.2% |
| 40 | 44.6% |
| 45 | 64.0% |
| 50 | 81.4% |

A blackout (coverall) is a different story: the chance that all 24 numbers on your card have come up within 50 calls is about 1 in 212,085, and it only becomes an even chance at the 74th call of 75.
A 90-ball ticket has 15 numbers on three rows. For one ticket on its own, there is a 50% chance of a line by the 66th call, two lines by the 79th and a full house by the 87th:
| Numbers called | One line | Full house |
|---|---|---|
| 45 | 8.2% | <0.1% |
| 60 | 33.4% | 0.1% |
| 75 | 79.3% | 5% |
| 85 | 99.1% | 39.3% |
The full chart is in our guide to bingo rules and how to play.
The figures above are for one card on its own. In a real game, the prize goes to whichever card completes the pattern first, and every card has the same chance of doing that. So your chance of winning is simply your share of the cards in play: 6 tickets in a game of 300 is a 2% chance, the same 6 in a game of 60 is 10%. More tickets raise that share but cost proportionally more; quieter games raise it for free. Our bingo tips go through what that means in practice.
Every figure on this page is exact probability, not an estimate: the chance that a given set of numbers has all been drawn after a certain number of calls, combined across every row, column and diagonal. The 75-ball line figures and the 90-ball figures were also checked against large simulations of random games.
