A bingo pattern is the shape your marked numbers have to make to win. Which patterns count depends on the game: in 90-ball bingo you play for lines and a full house, while 75-ball bingo, played on a 5×5 card, can be played for almost any shape the caller announces. In a hall, the caller announces what each game is played for before it starts; online, auto-daub marks your card as the numbers are called.
75-Ball Bingo Patterns
The 75-ball card has five columns headed B, I, N, G and O and a free space in the middle that counts as already marked. These are the patterns you will meet most often:

90-Ball Bingo Patterns
The 90-ball ticket has nine columns and three rows, with five numbers on each row. There are only a few patterns, and a game usually pays for them one after another:
One line: all five numbers on any one row.
Two lines: any two rows on the same ticket.
Full house: all 15 numbers on the ticket.
Four corners (in some halls): the first and last numbers on the top and bottom rows.

Which Patterns Are Hardest to Win?
The more squares a pattern needs, the more calls it takes. On a single 75-ball card there is a 50% chance of a line by the 42nd call, but a blackout needs the last few calls of the whole game. Our page on bingo odds has the numbers call by call.
