Play free roulette right here: European roulette with one zero, play chips, and no download or sign-up. Place your chips, spin, and see what every bet pays. The built-in simulator spins your bets 100 or 1,000 times in a second, so you can see how a strategy really behaves before you ever stake money on it.

Play chips only, no real money. European roulette: one zero, 37 pockets. A straight number pays 35 to 1, dozens and columns 2 to 1, red/black, odd/even and 1–18/19–36 pay even money and lose on zero.

How to Play This Free Roulette Game

  1. Pick a chip. Choose 1, 5, 25 or 100. You start with 1,000 play chips and can top up whenever you run out.
  2. Place your bets. Tap any number for a straight bet, or the boxes below the numbers for columns, dozens, red or black, odd or even, and 1 to 18 or 19 to 36. Tap again to add another chip.
  3. Spin. The winning number appears with its colour, winning bets light up, and your chips update. Your bets stay on the table, so you can spin again straight away or clear them.
  4. Try the simulator. With bets on the table, spin them 100 or 1,000 times to see the total staked, the total paid back and how often you hit. It does not touch your play chips.

Bets, Payouts and Chances

BetNumbersPaysChance to win
Straight (one number)135 to 11 in 37 (2.7%)
Dozen (1st, 2nd or 3rd 12)122 to 112 in 37 (32.4%)
Column (2 to 1)122 to 112 in 37 (32.4%)
Red or black181 to 118 in 37 (48.6%)
Odd or even181 to 118 in 37 (48.6%)
1 to 18 or 19 to 36181 to 118 in 37 (48.6%)

Every one of these bets has the same house edge: 2.7%, or 1 in 37. That comes from the single zero. A straight bet pays 35 to 1 but the fair price for 1 chance in 37 would be 36 to 1, and the even-money bets lose on zero. The roulette table layout guide shows where every bet sits on a real table, including splits, streets and corners.

What the Simulator Shows

A few spins tell you very little. The simulator lets you see the long run, and the long run is always the same: the 2.7% edge shows through. These are the exact chances of being ahead after a number of spins, betting the same amount each time:

SpinsAhead betting redAhead betting one number
1034%24%
10036%51%
1,00019%45%

Two things stand out. First, the longer you play, the less likely you are to be ahead on red: about one in three after 100 spins, fewer than one in five after 1,000. Second, a single number keeps you ahead more often over 100 spins than red does, because three hits are enough to put you in profit, but its losing runs are far longer. The average cost is the same for both: about £2.70 for every £100 you bet. After 1,000 one-chip bets on red, 95% of players end up somewhere between -88 and +34 chips.

Test a Strategy Before You Use It

Systems like the Martingale change the size of your bets, not the odds of any spin. Set up the bets you would make, run them through the simulator a few times, and watch the result swing around the same 2.7% average. The roulette strategy guide compares the best-known systems, and the roulette rules page covers the game from the start.

European vs American Roulette

This game is European roulette: 37 pockets, numbers 1 to 36 and a single zero, for a house edge of 2.70%. American roulette adds a double zero, making 38 pockets and a house edge of 5.26% on almost every bet. If you have the choice, the single-zero wheel costs you about half as much.

Free Roulette vs Real Money Roulette

A free game plays exactly like the real thing, with nothing at stake, which makes it the place to learn the bets and test ideas. Many online casinos also offer their roulette games in a free demo mode. In Great Britain, licensed casinos have to verify your age before you can play, even in demo mode.

Free roulette: frequently asked questions

Can I play roulette for free?

Yes. The game on this page uses play chips, so nothing is at stake and there is no download or sign-up. Many online casinos also offer roulette in a free demo mode.

Is this European or American roulette?

European: 37 pockets with a single zero, for a house edge of 2.70%. American roulette has a double zero as well, which raises the edge to 5.26%.

What does a straight number pay in roulette?

35 to 1. A dozen or column pays 2 to 1, and red or black, odd or even and 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 pay even money.

What happens to outside bets when zero comes up?

In this game they lose, as in standard European roulette. Some French tables return half of an even-money bet on zero (la partage).

What does the roulette simulator do?

It spins the bets you have on the table 100 or 1,000 times and shows the total staked, the total paid back and how often you won, without using your play chips.

What are the chances of being ahead after 100 spins on red?

About 36%. After 1,000 spins it falls to about 19%, because the 2.7% house edge shows through the longer you play.

Is there a roulette strategy that beats the house edge?

No. Betting systems change the size of your bets, not the odds of any spin. Every bet on a European wheel loses 2.7% on average over time.

Do I need to verify my age to play free roulette at a casino?

In Great Britain, yes: licensed casinos must verify your age before you can play, even in demo mode. The free game on this page needs no account.
