Chicken Road
One hen, four difficulty levels and a 98% RTP — and roughly the same odds of doubling your stake whichever level you pick.

Chicken Road is a casino mini game from InOut Games, released on 4 April 2024. You pick a stake and a difficulty, then walk a hen across a road one manhole cover at a time. Every safe step raises the multiplier on your stake; one wrong step and the round is lost. You can cash out after any step you survive.
It is one of the most searched casino games of the past year, and a lot of what turns up next to its name is not the game at all. This guide covers how a round works, the figures InOut Games publishes, the full multiplier table from the provider’s own demo, and what that table says about your real chances at each difficulty.

| Provider | InOut Games |
| Released | 4 April 2024 |
| Game type | Single-player mini game (step-by-step cash-out) |
| RTP | 98% |
| Difficulty levels | Easy, Medium, Hard, Hardcore |
| Steps per level | 24 / 22 / 20 / 15 |
| Top multiplier | 19.44× (Easy) to 2,542,251.93× (Hardcore) |
| Bet range (provider demo) | $0.01 to $150 per round |
| Maximum win (provider demo) | $10,000 per round |
| Sequel | Chicken Road 2.0 (15 April 2025, RTP 95.5%) |
There are no reels, paylines or bonus rounds. Everything comes down to one decision you make again and again: take the money, or take one more step.
The multipliers below come straight from the configuration InOut Games’ own demo loads. The code calls the top level “Daredevil”; the provider’s page calls it Hardcore.
| Level | Steps | Step 1 | Step 5 | Step 10 | Final step |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 24 | 1.03× | 1.23× | 1.63× | 19.44× |
| Medium | 22 | 1.12× | 1.98× | 4.96× | 1,788.80× |
| Hard | 20 | 1.23× | 3.36× | 15.21× | 41,321.43× |
| Hardcore | 15 | 1.63× | 15.21× | 890.19× | 2,542,251.93× |
Easy climbs slowly and tops out below 20×. Hardcore starts at 1.63× on the very first cover and reaches four figures by step 11. The multipliers look wildly different; the next section shows why the odds behind them are much closer than they look.
InOut Games publishes one return figure for the game: 98%. If every cash-out point pays back that same 98%, then the chance of surviving long enough to collect a multiplier m is simply 0.98 ÷ m. Reaching 2× is roughly a 49% shot, 10× about 10%, 100× about 1%, whatever the level.

What the difficulty really changes is how many steps it takes to get there:
| Level | First step worth 2× or more | Chance | First step worth 10× or more | Chance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | Step 13 (2.04×) | 48% | Step 24 (19.44×) | 5.0% |
| Medium | Step 6 (2.33×) | 42% | Step 14 (11.74×) | 8.3% |
| Hard | Step 4 (2.56×) | 38% | Step 9 (10.56×) | 9.3% |
| Hardcore | Step 2 (2.80×) | 35% | Step 5 (15.21×) | 6.4% |
Three things follow from that.
None of this changes the 98% return: over a long run, every level and every cash-out point costs about 2% of what you stake. What changes is how bumpy the ride is.
InOut Games released a sequel, Chicken Road 2.0, on 15 April 2025. The idea is the same — a hen, a road, a multiplier that grows with each step — but the sequel has the hen dodging traffic across a highway rather than stepping between manhole covers. The provider lists its RTP at 95.5%, against 98% for the original, so on paper the original gives back more of each stake. They are separate games; check which one a lobby tile opens before you play.
This is one of the most common searches around the game, and the answer depends on which “Chicken Road” you mean.
If you want to try it without money, the free demo on the provider’s own site is the version to use.
InOut Games publishes a list of 26 restricted countries where it does not offer its games. It includes the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Turkey, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. A reader in one of those countries will not find the game at a properly licensed local casino. Elsewhere, availability depends on the operator and the country, so the lobby search box is the quickest way to check.
Two operators reviewed here list the game in their casino lobby:
| Operator | Welcome offer | Wagering | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1xBet | Up to €1,500 + 150 free spins across four deposits | 35× the bonus, within 7 days per deposit leg | Open 1xBet |
| Betwinner | Up to €1,500 + 150 free spins across 4 deposits | 35× the bonus, within 7 days | Open Betwinner |
Chicken Road sits in the same corner of the lobby as the other quick-decision games. If you like the cash-out-or-carry-on idea, Aviator runs it against a rising curve instead of a road, Mines runs it on a grid of hidden tiles, and Plinko takes the decision away and lets the pegs decide. The rest of the catalogue is in the casino games guide.
Rounds in Chicken Road take seconds, and the choice to step again comes up every couple of seconds, which makes it easy to play far more rounds than planned. Decide your cash-out point before the round starts rather than during it, set a deposit limit and a session time limit in your account first, and use the reality-check and time-out tools a licensed operator provides. Free, confidential support is available at BeGambleAware.org. 18+ only.
Playing the sequel? Our Chicken Road 2 guide has every lane multiplier for all four levels of Chicken Road 2.0, the odds they imply at its 95.5% RTP, and the $20,000 cap.
