20p Roulette is an online roulette game from Inspired Entertainment, built around small 20p chips. It uses a single-zero wheel and standard roulette payouts, so the odds are the same as any European roulette game; the appeal is that you can spread small chips across the table for a modest total stake. Inspired lists a £1 minimum bet per spin and a top win of £100,000. This guide covers how to play, what each bet pays on a 20p chip, the neighbour bets, 20p Boost Roulette and where to try the demo.

How to Play 20p Roulette

  1. Place your chips. Tap numbers, lines or outside bets on the betting table. Your total bet has to reach the minimum, £1 on Inspired’s version, before you can spin.
  2. Or use the neighbour bets table, which covers a number and the numbers next to it in one tap.
  3. Press Bet. The ball is launched around the wheel, and any chips on the number it lands on, or on bets that include it, are paid.
  4. Turbo Spin skips the wheel animation if you want quicker rounds.

20p Roulette Payouts and Odds

The payouts are the standard roulette ones. A payout such as 35:1 is your profit, and you get your chip back on top, so a 20p chip on a winning number returns £7.20 in total.

Every bet on a single-zero wheel returns 97.30% over the long run. Wider bets win more often and pay less.

Neighbour Bets

A neighbour bet puts a chip on the number you choose and on the four numbers next to it, two either side, so one tap places five 20p chips, which is exactly the £1 minimum. Those five numbers win about 13.5% of the time; if one of them comes up, the straight-up win of £7.20 leaves you £6.20 ahead on the spin. The return is the same 97.30% as any other bet.

20p Boost Roulette

Inspired’s 20p Boost Roulette adds a Spinbar that runs before each spin and sets the odds for straight-up bets. Landing on the Boost section pays 50 to 1 and the Super Boost section 100 to 1 on a winning number. Inspired lists a maximum win of £500,000 and an RTP from 95.07% to 97.3% depending on the bet, so some bets return less than in the standard game in exchange for the chance of a boosted payout.

RTP and What 20p Spins Cost

An RTP of 97.30% means the house keeps 2.70% of everything staked over the long run. Small chips keep each spin cheap, but the cost grows with the number of spins: at £1 a spin, 100 spins cost £2.70 on average. No betting system changes that, because every bet has the same edge. Our roulette odds guide and roulette strategy guide go into this in more detail.

20p Roulette Demo

Inspired’s 20p Roulette page has a Play Now demo; you have to confirm you are 18 or over first. Some UK casinos also offer the game in demo mode after an age check. The demo uses the same wheel and payouts as the real game, so it is a good way to get used to the layout and the neighbour bets.
