Red Door Roulette is a live roulette game from Evolution that bolts the bonus round from Crazy Time onto a standard single-zero wheel. Each round, between 3 and 15 numbers get a key. If the ball lands on a keyed number you backed straight up, you go through the red door into the Crazy Time bonus wheel, where every segment carries a multiplier. The price of that chance is a lower payout on ordinary straight-up wins: 19:1 instead of 35:1.

This guide covers how a round works, what every bet pays, how the bonus works, and where the return on a straight-up bet actually comes from.

How a Round Works

  1. Place your bets. The betting grid is standard European roulette: numbers, splits, streets, corners, lines, columns, dozens and the even-money bets. Only a straight-up bet on a single number can reach the bonus.
  2. The slot machine picks the keys. When betting closes, the dealer pulls a lever and a slot machine reveals a Bonus Number between 3 and 15. That many keys are then dropped onto random numbers on the grid, one per number. Some keys come with a random multiplier from 2× to 20×.
  3. The ball is spun. An automatic wheel spins the ball.
  4. Settlement. A winning straight-up bet on an ordinary number pays 19:1. If the winning number carries a key and you backed it straight up, you go through the red door to the bonus game. Every other bet is paid at normal roulette odds.

The Bonus: Through the Red Door

Behind the door is the Crazy Time bonus world: a giant virtual wheel of 64 segments, each showing a multiplier, plus DOUBLE segments. If the Bonus Number that sent you there carried a multiplier from the slot machine, every multiplier on the wheel is multiplied by it before the spin. The wheel then spins; if it stops on a multiplier, that multiplier is applied to your straight-up stake. If it stops on DOUBLE, every value on the wheel doubles and it spins again. The biggest multiplier the game can pay is 4,000×.

The Return on Each Bet

Every bet except the straight up pays exactly what it pays in standard single-zero roulette, so it returns the standard 97.30%. The straight up is where the game is different, and it returns 97.09% — almost the same total, reached in a very different way:

Chart: a Red Door straight-up bet returns 54.05% from the 19:1 win plus 43.04 points from keys and the bonus game, 97.09% in total; standard roulette returns 97.30% from its 35:1 win
Return per 100 staked on one number, single-zero wheel.

At 19:1, a win on one of 37 numbers gives back only 54.05% of what is staked on straight ups. The other 43.04 points come from the keyed numbers and the bonus game. In practice that means your ordinary straight-up wins are much smaller than in normal roulette, and a large share of the long-run return arrives in occasional bonus rounds. If you mostly play outside bets — red/black, dozens, columns — nothing changes for you except that you cannot reach the bonus.

Playing It Sensibly

The bonus makes it tempting to spread straight-up bets across many numbers to catch a key. That raises the amount staked each spin without changing the return, which stays below 100% on every bet. Decide your budget before you start, set a deposit limit and a session time limit in your account, and use the reality-check and time-out tools a licensed operator provides. Red Door Roulette: frequently asked questions

What is Red Door Roulette?

Red Door Roulette is a live single-zero roulette game from Evolution, launched in 2023. Each round a slot machine puts keys on 3 to 15 numbers; a straight-up win on a keyed number takes you to the Crazy Time bonus wheel, where every segment carries a multiplier.

Why does a straight-up bet pay 19:1 in Red Door Roulette?

The payout is cut from the standard 35:1 to 19:1 to fund the keys and the bonus game. On its own the 19:1 win returns about 54% of what is staked on straight ups; the keys and the bonus make up the rest, for 97.09% in total.

What is the RTP of Red Door Roulette?

Straight-up bets return 97.09%. Every other bet pays standard roulette odds and returns 97.30%, the same as ordinary single-zero roulette.

How do you get into the Red Door bonus?

Bet on a single number straight up. If the ball lands on that number and it carries a key that round, you go through the red door to the bonus wheel. Split, corner, column and other bets cannot trigger the bonus.

How many keys are there each round?

Between 3 and 15. A slot machine picks the Bonus Number each round, and that many keys are placed on random numbers, one per number. Some keys also carry a 2x to 20x multiplier that is applied to the bonus wheel.

What is the maximum win in Red Door Roulette?

The bonus wheel can pay up to 4,000x a straight-up stake. The casino’s own maximum payout per round also applies; the game’s help screen shows it.

Is Red Door Roulette better than normal roulette?

Not in value: the straight up returns 97.09% against 97.30% in normal single-zero roulette, and every other bet is identical. What changes is the shape of the wins — smaller everyday straight-up wins in exchange for occasional large bonus multipliers.

What is the difference between Red Door Roulette and Crazy Time?

Red Door Roulette is roulette with Crazy Time’s bonus wheel added: you bet on numbers and reach the bonus through a keyed straight-up win. Crazy Time is a money-wheel game show with four bonus games, where you bet on wheel segments.
