Eye of Horus is an ancient-Egypt slot from Blueprint Gaming, released online on 1 November 2017 — Blueprint calls it a top-performing free-spins game in UK and European land-based venues. It plays on five reels and 10 fixed lines, with an expanding wild and a free games round in which the Eye of Horus upgrades the paying symbols. Blueprint publishes an RTP of up to 96.31%, and the game has since grown into a family that includes a Megaways version, The Golden Tablet and a Jackpot King edition.

The game is a classic line slot: you choose your stake, spin, and win by lining up matching symbols from left to right on any of the 10 lines, with the Egyptian picture symbols paying more than the lower-value ones.
The Eye of Horus is the wild. When it lands on reel 2, 3 or 4, it expands to fill the whole reel as a stacked wild, substituting for the paying symbols on every line that crosses it. Two or three expanded reels at once are where the base game’s bigger wins come from.
Land three or more scatter symbols to trigger up to 12 free games. The free games add the feature the slot is known for: every time one or more expanding wilds lands on reel 2, 3 or 4, the symbol upgrade activates and a high-paying symbol is upgraded to the next highest-paying one. Up to five symbols can be upgraded in a round, so the reels hold more and more of the top symbols as it goes on. Horus symbols landing during the round also add spins: one, two or three of them award 1, 3 or 5 extra free games.
Blueprint releases each game at several return-to-player settings, and the casino picks the one it runs. The game is the same to look at in every version; only the long-run return changes.

The difference is real money over time: on £100 of spins, the 96.31% version returns £96.31 on average and the 90.25% version £90.25. The game’s help or paytable screen normally states the RTP of the version you are playing, so it is worth a look before you start.
| Game | Released | Layout | Top RTP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eye of Horus | Nov 2017 | 10 lines | 96.31% |
| Eye of Horus Megaways | Nov 2019 | Up to 15,625 ways | 95.49% |
| Eye of Horus Jackpot King | Jul 2020 | 10 lines + Jackpot King | 95.46% + jackpot |
| Eye of Horus The Golden Tablet | Oct 2021 | 10 lines | 95.20% |
Eye of Horus Megaways keeps the expanding wilds and upgrading free games but uses the Megaways reel system, with up to 15,625 ways to win; its wilds expand on reels 2 to 5, and bets run from £0.10 to £10. The Golden Tablet reworks the free games: every wild in view turns the next highest-paying symbol into the top symbol and also awards extra spins. Jackpot King adds Blueprint’s progressive jackpot system, where cash prizes or progressive jackpots can be won on any spin; its RTP is published as 93.20% or 95.46% plus the jackpot contribution.
Blueprint’s own Eye of Horus page has a demo preview, and many online casinos let you play the game in demo mode. A demo plays exactly like the real game, which makes it a good way to see how the wilds and the free games work before you stake money. In Great Britain, licensed casinos have to verify your age before you can play, even in demo mode.
Blueprint lists a maximum bet of £100 per spin, but in Great Britain online slot stakes are capped by law: £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over, and £2 per spin for 18 to 24 year olds. A British casino will limit the game’s bet range accordingly. Elsewhere, the limits depend on the country and the casino.
These operators reviewed here accept players from the UK and carry large slot lobbies. Availability depends on where you live, and not every casino runs every Blueprint title, so search the lobby for “Eye of Horus”.
