PG Soft’s Year of the Ox slot: three reels, 10 lines, a respin feature that runs until a win, and ×10 on a full screen.
Fortune Ox is PG Soft’s Year of the Ox slot, released in February 2021. It is a small game on purpose: three reels, a 3-4-3 grid with a taller middle reel, 10 fixed paylines and seven symbols. What makes it popular is one feature. At any moment the Fortune Ox can wake up, match the two outer reels and respin everything until a win lands — and if the whole grid fills with one symbol, the win is multiplied by 10. PG Soft puts the maximum win at 2,000× the bet and the RTP at up to 96.75%.
This guide covers the grid and lines, what each symbol pays, how the Fortune Ox Feature works, where the 2,000× comes from, the RTP, how it compares with the rest of PG Soft’s Fortune series, and where to play it.

PG Soft describes Fortune Ox as “a 3-reel, 3-row (for reel 1 and 3) and 4-row (for reel 2) video slot”. That gives ten positions in all: three on the left, four in the middle, three on the right. The game plays across 10 fixed paylines, so there is nothing to set up — you choose a stake and spin.
A win needs three matching symbols on a line, one on each reel, read from left to right. With only three reels there are no four- or five-of-a-kind pays: every line win is a three, and the only thing that changes is which symbol made it. The Ox is the Wild. It pays the most on its own and substitutes for every other symbol to complete a line.
PG Soft builds for phones first, and Fortune Ox runs in portrait in a mobile browser without a download. The game is also enabled for PG Soft’s tournament system, so it can turn up in a casino’s slot races.
All pays are multiples of your total bet. Three of a kind on a line pays as follows, and the right-hand column shows what a full screen of that symbol works out to — all 10 lines winning at once, then the ×10 multiplier:

| Symbol | 3 on a line | Full screen |
|---|---|---|
| Wild (the Ox) | 20× | 2,000× |
| Gold ingot | 10× | 1,000× |
| Chest of coins | 5× | 500× |
| Bag of coins | 2× | 200× |
| Red envelope | 1× | 100× |
| Mandarin orange | 0.5× | 50× |
| Firecrackers | 0.3× | 30× |
The two lowest symbols, mandarins and firecrackers, pay less than the stake for a single line, so a spin can show a win and still return less than it cost. That is normal for a low-line slot and is worth knowing before reading the win meter.
This is the game’s one bonus, and it can start on any spin with no scatter or trigger symbol. In PG Soft’s words: “During the Fortune Ox Feature, when the first and third reel share the same symbols, all reels will respin until there is a win!”
In practice the Ox appears, reels 1 and 3 settle on the same symbol, and the reels keep respinning until a line pays. Because both outer reels already agree, the respins are really looking for the middle reel to complete a line — with the matching symbol or a Wild. The feature always ends in a win, but the size of that win depends on which symbol the outer reels share: firecrackers and a gold ingot are very different outcomes.
PG Soft’s second rule is short: “Full reels win will reward x10 wins too!” If all ten positions show the same symbol, or that symbol with Wilds filling the gaps, every one of the 10 lines wins at once and the total is multiplied by 10.
That is where the maximum comes from. A full screen of Wilds is 10 lines × 20× = 200× the bet, and the multiplier takes it to 2,000× — exactly the maximum PG Soft publishes. A full screen of gold ingots works out to 1,000×; a full screen of firecrackers to 30×.
PG Soft lists Fortune Ox at 96.75% and labels it a maximum. Studios often build the same game at more than one return setting and let the casino choose, so the figure in the game’s own information screen at your casino is the one that applies to you — it takes two taps to check.
PG Soft does not publish a volatility rating. Review sites place it between medium and medium-high: most spins pay little or nothing, and the larger results come from the Fortune Ox Feature landing on a high symbol or from a full screen.
Fortune Ox is one of PG Soft’s zodiac slots, one for each year of the Chinese calendar, most of them released in January. They share the small-grid format but each has its own feature. From PG Soft’s own catalogue:
| Game | Released | Grid | Signature feature | Max win | RTP (max) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fortune Mouse | Mar 2020 | 3×3 | Respins until a win; Wilds added to the middle reel | 1,000× | 96.96% |
| Fortune Ox | Feb 2021 | 3-4-3 | Respins until a win; ×10 on a full screen | 2,000× | 96.75% |
| Fortune Tiger | Jan 2022 | 3×3 | Respins; ×10 multiplier | 2,500× | 96.81% |
| Fortune Rabbit | Jan 2023 | 3-4-3 | Prize symbols up to 500× | 5,000× | 96.75% |
| Fortune Dragon | Jan 2024 | 3×3 | Multiplier reel up to ×10; Fortune Spins | 2,500× | 96.74% |
| Fortune Snake | Jan 2025 | 3-4-3 | Respins; stacked Wilds; ×10 multiplier | 5,000× | 96.76% |
| Fortune Horse | Jan 2026 | 3 reels, 5 rows | ×10 multiplier; bonus spins | 10,000× | 96.76% |
Fortune Ox and Fortune Tiger are the two most often compared. Both are respin-and-×10 games; Tiger uses a square 3×3 grid and a slightly higher 2,500× cap, while Ox has the taller middle reel and the respin that runs until a line pays. Later entries move toward bigger caps and extra rounds — Rabbit’s prize symbols, Dragon’s multiplier reel, Horse’s bonus spins.
PG Soft supplies casinos rather than running one, so you play Fortune Ox through an operator that carries the studio. Two sites reviewed here list PG Soft in their game libraries:

Catalogues differ from country to country, so use the lobby search or the PG Soft provider filter to find the game. For funding an account from the Philippines, see our GCash and Maya guides.
Within PG Soft, Wild Bounty Showdown is the studio’s bigger multiplier game, with a 5,000× cap. If what you like is a small grid with one clear feature, JILI’s Fortune Gems and Fortune Gems 2 use three reels and a multiplier reel instead of a respin, and Crazy 777 is a one-line classic with a special reel.
