Fortune Gems 2

Fortune Gems 2 is the second game in JILI’s Fortune Gems series, published in December 2023. It keeps the original’s small 3×3 grid of gems and the multiplier reel down the right-hand side, and adds the feature the first game never had: a Lucky Wheel that can land on that fourth reel and pay up to 1,000× the bet in one spin. JILI puts the game’s maximum win at 10,000× — against 375× on the original.

How a Spin Works

Each spin fills the 3×3 grid with gems, card royals and wilds, and the fourth reel stops on one position at the same time. Wins are three of a kind along one of the five fixed lines. There are no two-symbol wins, so every paying line runs the full width of the grid.

The fourth reel then does one of two things:

• It shows a multiplier. Every line win on that spin is multiplied by it — 1×, 2×, 3×, 5×, 10× or 15×. A spin with no line win pays nothing, whatever the multiplier shows.
• It shows the Lucky Wheel. The wheel symbol, which JILI calls a scatter, starts one spin of the wheel. This is the feature that separates Fortune Gems 2 from the original.

The Wild substitutes for the other symbols on a line and is also the top-paying symbol in its own right. JILI also lists a Full Symbol feature among the game’s specials. A grid filled with one symbol wins on all five lines at once, which is the biggest win the grid can make.

What Each Symbol Pays

Because there are exactly five lines, the line bet is a fifth of your total bet. Three of a kind pays the following, before the multiplier reel is applied:

Two things follow from that table. A single line of J returns less than your stake unless the multiplier reel shows 3× or more. And the best spin the grid can produce on its own is Wild on all five lines: 5 × 5× = 25× the bet, which the top 15× multiplier takes to 375×. That is exactly the maximum win of the original Fortune Gems, and it is the ceiling of Fortune Gems 2’s base game too. Everything above 375× comes from the Lucky Wheel.

The Lucky Wheel

When the wheel symbol stops on the fourth reel, the game spins a prize wheel once and pays whatever segment it lands on as a multiple of the bet. The wheel’s segments, as listed by slot-review sites, are 1×, 3×, 5×, 8×, 10×, 15×, 20×, 30×, 50×, 100×, 200× and 1,000×. JILI’s own description of the sequel says the change was to make the wheel easier to reach through the scatter while keeping the line wins and multiplier reel of the original.

The game does not publish how often each segment comes up, so twelve values on the wheel do not mean a one-in-twelve chance of 1,000×. Expect the top segment to be rare.

The Extra Bet

Fortune Gems 2 has an optional Extra Bet that raises the cost of each spin by 50%. In return it removes the 1× position from the multiplier reel, so every line win is at least doubled, and it improves the prizes on the Lucky Wheel. According to the review sites that have tested it, the Extra Bet is the only way to reach the top of the game’s win range.

Whether it is worth it is a question of rhythm more than value: you pay half as much again on every spin, including all the spins that win nothing, in exchange for bigger wins when they come. Try both modes in the free demo before deciding.

RTP, Volatility and Maximum Win

JILI does not publish an RTP for Fortune Gems 2, on its game page or in the regulator’s approved-games list. Third-party sites quote two different figures — 97% and 94.38% — which is what you would expect from a game offered at more than one RTP setting. The figure that applies to you is the one in the game’s own information screen, at the casino where you play. Open it from the game menu before your first real-money spin.

JILI rates the volatility medium and the maximum win 10,000×. A version of the game listed under TaDa Gaming, JILI’s sister brand, is shown on some review sites with a 15,000× cap and an August 2023 release date.
